Another service that PCPO offers to member schools and their teachers is our School Support Committee. There are two ways this can be helpful for your
school:
- First, we offer an evaluation booklet to be used by schools as a self-evaluation tool. It is the standard by which to measure your school in many vital areas. Going through this
educational process is a way to give yourselves a "pat on the back" and aid in setting goals that will bring you closer to excellence. The booklet is based on NAEYC’s book “Developmentally
Appropriate Practice,” and tailored to the co-op preschool setting.
- Second, we offer an on-site visitation. At a mutually agreed upon date, a team of three people will come to observe the classroom, meet with your board, and meet with the
teacher. We would then follow up our visit with a written report. This is a great way to draw on the knowledge and experience of other PCPO schools. These visits are scheduled on a first come, first
served basis.
